St. Paul Preschool

Our preschool is has applied to be assessed for the next level of Quality Improvement through the Colorado Shines program. We are expecting our annual State of Colorado licensing agent to assess on the administrative aspects of our program at any time, and we expect the quality improvement agent to visit and assess our academic and delivery aspect of our program in March. Our preschool has shifted it’s teaching methods to meet industry standards for the state of Colorado, which you can read more about here: CDEC Announces Universal Preschool Quality Standards Informed by Community and Stakeholder Input | Colorado Department of Early Childhood

While our school is not choosing to join the Universal Preschool program, we still strive to meet or exceed quality standards. The industry standard preschool method is widely considered to be a play-based curriculum which recognizes that young children learn best through play and exploration, encouraging creativity, social interaction, and problem-solving skills; other prominent approaches include the Reggio Emilia method, which emphasizes child-led learning and open-ended exploration, and a focus on social-emotional development to build important interpersonal skills.
